Dear John,
Thank you for your comment and inquiry on the Ealing Video and Film Makers website.
We are not meeting in Greenford for the next couple of weeks as the hall is closed for cleaning etc but I suggest that you come along to one of our meetings on or after the 16th September and meet us personally. We will be happy to give you any advice about editing etc. Although the club doesn't run courses, we have access to lots of knowledge.
In the meantime, please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Thanks,
Andy Wilson

I am a total beginner in this field, I have a Sony Camcorder DCR-SR37 with 60 x Optical Zoom and 60GB Hard Disk Drive. I got it about 3 years ago, and whilst I've made a few little bits and pieces of films and uploaded them up to YouTube,
I haven't achieved what I would like to be able to do. I find my main problem is Editing and Titling at the beginning and end of the video.
I have access to Photoshop Premier 6.5 and Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 but I find it hard to understand even Windows Movie Maker, so this is really the area I need to learn if I am to create videos that satisfy my criteria, and I think I have tried to do it on my own long enough to realise I need a bit of help to learn what one would think would be basic skills i.e. Titling and editing.
So I am asking if you run courses for beginners like myself just to get me started, I know the 2 Programs I have mentioned and quite different, but surely the basic ideas are similar in operation, even Windows Movie Maker gets me stuck.
I keep thinking if it was on actual film then I would be able to work with it, maybe because I have the film in my hands. Those days are gone now and we are in the digital age, I just need a bit of help to understand how to do certain things, and would appreciate it if you can help me in anyway.
Yours Faithfully.
John
