A film produced by Andy Wilson and filmed by EVFM members and friends. It was commissioned by Highgate Choral Society and is their official version of the Flash Mob concert. At 11.00am on Saturday 18 December 2010 hundreds of unsuspecting shoppers enjoyed a Flash Mob of 200 choristers from 16 choirs at London's Brent Cross Shopping Centre performing The Hallelujah Chorus. A few hours later Brent Cross Shopping Center was closed early for the first time in it's history due to a snow blizzard.

Tech Info

We had ten camera operators, several of whom were current or past EVFM club members. The rest of the camera operators were friends and family members of the choirs. The club members had not met the "choir" camera operators before and we will probably not see them again. There were no camera rehersals before the event and we didn't even know how many singers there were and where they were standing, as they were all disguised as shoppers.

The cameras ranged from a professional Sony NX5 camcorder, to a lot of domestic handycams and even a still camera with video capability.

There were 11 separate sound sources (eight from video cameras and three from roving wireless microphones). Half of the microphones were on the first floor and the other half were on the ground floor. All audio tracks were mixed together to provide a more full and balanced sound, as compared to a single audio source.

The video was produced by Andy Wilson and edited by Andy Wilson and John James. It was edited on Apple Final Cut Studio 7.
